OpenAI’s ChatGPT service was down all day for a lot of customers after the platform began experiencing efficiency points on Tuesday morning. The chatbot responded with a “Hmm…one thing appears to have gone mistaken” error message to my colleague after failing to load, and customers throughout X and Reddit are reporting platform outages.
Downdetector confirmed that points began at round 3AM ET, with a number of areas impacted globally. OpenAI’s personal standing web page stated that some customers began experiencing “elevated error charges and latency” at the moment, noting that the problems have been affecting ChatGPT, its Sora text-to-video AI software, and OpenAI APIs. OpenAI added a separate line for “elevated error charges on Sora” at 5:23AM ET, and later up to date the standing for each to “partial outage.”
As of 6:32PM ET, OpenAI’s tracker reported a “full restoration within the API,” and that “Nearly all ChatGPT parts at the moment are working correctly for all customers.” The one spot of hassle, nonetheless, is voice mode, which nonetheless has elevated error charges.
