Caffeinated Capital, a San Francisco enterprise agency began by a solo capitalist Raymond Tonsing, is elevating a fifth fund of $400 million, in accordance with a regulatory submitting.
The agency, an early investor in software program firm Airtable and protection startup Saronic, has already raised $160 million towards the fund. If Caffeinated hits its goal, it will likely be the 15-year-old agency’s largest capital haul date. Although the outfit didn’t announce its earlier fund, PitchBook information estimates that Caffeinated closed its fund 4 with a complete of $209 million in commitments.
Although Tonsing was Caffeinated’s solely basic companion till 4 years in the past, Varun Gupta, who led information science and machine studying at Affirm, joined him as a second basic companion in 2020.
Tonsing was an early investor in Affirm, a buy-now-pay-later platform that went public in 2021. The agency’s different notable exits embody A/B testing startup Optimizely, which PitchBook estimates was offered for $600 million in 2020.
