Yukai Engineering’s parade of bizarre animal robots at CES 2025 continues with Nékojita FuFu. The little cat mounts to the aspect of a mug or bowl, blowing air to assist cool it off. The Tokyo-based agency says the robotic combines a fan and “particular algorithm” — or a “Fuing System — to blow at random strengths and intervals, like an individual.
The distinctive identify is a mix of two distinct ideas. “FuFu” is an onomatopoeia for the sound we make when blowing on meals. “Neko-jita” means “cat tongue.” This, in flip is a reference to individuals who have a low tolerance for warm meals — a situation that apparently impacts almost half of the Japanese inhabitants, based on a survey.
Nékojita FuFu is a product of the identical inside hack-a-thon that gave the world Murami, the fuzzy little purse goblin that Yukai additionally unveiled at CES this week.
“Nékojita FuFu was born out of Yukai Engineering’s 2024 inside Make-a-Thon,” the corporate notes, “throughout which a workforce chief reminisced about how badly he wished assist years in the past with blowing on freshly cooked child meals for his son as a result of doing so typically left him feeling breathless and dizzy.”
Yukai describes the robotic’s mods thusly:
- The Basic Main mode. Steady medium-strength/size blows with brief intervals.
- Look at That! Gradually ramps up in power as if it’s captivated by how the meals appears
- I’ve Got This! Strong head-start adopted by sustained energy.
