Apple CEO Tim Cook is the subsequent tech exec to donate $1 million to President-elect Donald Trump’s inauguration committee, in keeping with Axios. Cook’s donation follows comparable commitments from OpenAI CEO Sam Altman, Amazon founder Jeff Bezos by Amazon, and Meta as Big Tech firms and executives work to curry favor with the incoming administration.
Cook famously constructed a private relationship with Trump throughout his first time period that different tech CEOs wish to replicate. He was one in all many to congratulate Trump after his Election Day victory, and Axios studies that Cook has met with Trump at Trump Tower and his Mar-a-Lago resort in Florida.
Unnamed sources inform Axios that “Cook, a proud Alabama native, believes the inauguration is a superb American custom, and is donating to the inauguration within the spirit of unity.” Apple is “not anticipated” to donate to the inauguration. The firm didn’t instantly reply to a request for remark.
